I had such an inspiring time collaborating with phenomenal singer/songwriter Jodi Heights on her new album images. Amazing hair and makeup artist Sydney created such a beautiful series of looks. I also had the opportunity to photograph her album release concert - this woman is SOOOOO GOOOD!!! I listen to her EP constantly - check it out!
A few months back the amazing Gina Perregrino came to town for a shoot to showcase both her earthy, sensual roles as well as the 'pants' charactesr she is known for. Hair and makueup by the phenomenal Sonja Gjokaj
During a recent trip to NY, one of my older brothers recently needed some new headshots and I wanted to try out a new lighting technique. We wanted to showcase his intelligence, warmth, and confidence. Win-win!
Jenn and I discussed how she wanted to approach this next phase of of her career - she's sung a lot of 'cute' roles and is ready to explore some more mature rep. A lot of the concepts that came up related to her reputation as a smart singer and a transformative actor in addition to her beautiful voice and form. So we went with a 'Teresa Stratas for the new millenium' inspired shoot in my New York studio. A few snaps from a great session:
Last month I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with the great Operatic Dramatic Soprano, Christine Goerke on some new headshots, showcasing her new blonde hair and svelte physique. We were joined by makeup artist extraordinaire, Anne Ford-Coates, and amazing wardrobe stylist Holli Harrison. All of this magic went down at the coolest venue, Art Factory Studios in Paterson, NJ. This was my second time working with Christine - we had a fabulous time seven years ago when she became an auburn-haired beauty, but it was time for an update. The goal was: luminous portraits that looked like Christine at her best. Show her owning her feminine grace and power. A few shots from an inspiring day!
One of my favorite gigs is my annual jaunt down to D.C. to photograph the up-and-coming talent of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artists at the Washington National Opera. Working with these young musicians is such an inspiration. I love collaborating with each of them in creating headshots that capture their individual beauty and what they want to say as artists as they enter the next phases of their professional development. A few snaps from an amazing few days. For the photographers out there, these were shot with a canon 5d mark iii and two off camera canon 600rxt speedlights with photek softlighter II's.
